'TREE PIGS FARM' is a beautiful Bulgarian Bed and Breakfast Guest House  and Campsite in the rural village of Nikolovo (Haskovo District) Bulgaria, next to a fishing lake  in the pine covered foothills of the Southern Rhodopes mountain range, 25 kilometres from Kardjali and only a short drive from the Greek border.

You will be very welcome at our 'Perfect Pigsty'.

Tree Pigs is a unique  B&B , Hotel and working smallholding here in The Rhodopes of Bulgaria.

  We grow organic fruit and vegetables and sponsor pigs who may get a little muddy from time to time but contrary to popular belief.........are very smart and clean.
However they are not housed on the property and are not allowed near the guesthouse or camping areas.

 


You are allowed in the house and welcome to stay for one or two nights or several weeks in one of our lovely guest rooms and enjoy a slap up home grown, home prepared English Style breakfast before venturing out and about to visit the many places of historic and archaeological interest around the Haskovo, Kardjali regions.

 

We welcome the opportunity to show you why others and we fell in love with this land and its' people. 

 We moved from the UK specifically to offer a special kind of holiday accommodation for like-minded people visiting this wonderful region of Bulgaria.

Our small Hotel, Guest House is near Kardjali (25kms) Perperikon, Haskovo (25kms), Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Asenovgrad. We are on the main bus route from Sofia, Bourgas and Varna with excellent public transport throughout the region.

Some of the historical sites and natural phenomenom you can visit during your stay at our B&B mini pig farm include: Perperikon, Orpheus Tomb at Tatul, Castle Ustra, stone mushrooms and caves near Kardjali. 

Lake Thrakia is situated right on the edge of our village  with an abundant variety of fish, ideal for fishing trips/holidays in Bulgaria. 

The surrounding hills, which offer some of the most stunning scenery in the world, are full of wildlife and birds, some species you may not have seen in your own country for many years and this your perfect birdwatching accommodation in Bulgaria.

 

This area of the Bulgarian Rhodopes is ideal for hiking holidays and hill walking trips suitable for the most experienced of hikers and those who wish to pace themselves to a more gentle walk.
Our wonderful house is central to many newly discovered archaeological sites and natural phenomenon. 

Your visits to Kardjali and Haskovo both offer an eclectic selection of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, markets, modern outlets and without exception, some of the friendliest welcoming people in the world.
 In fact this region of Bulgaria has something to offer everyone with a sense of adventure and an interest in other cultures.

There are many opportunities for volunteers who wish to experience life on a real working smallholding, working alongside us on the property, being involved growing organic fruit and vegetables, learning how to cook and preserve the produce grown here and many other tasks we carry out throughout the year.
